Our CSR Vision: To be an active socially responsible corporate citizen and play a leading role within spheres of influence.
Corporate Social Responsibility has always been an integral part of KMG's business philosophy. It is not just a duty, its KMG's way of life. Being a progressive business also means doing the best for the environment and the communities that KMGites (i.e. KMG employees) are part of. Our commitment to address important social needs extends throughout our business. An essential component of our corporate social responsibility is to make a positive contribution to the underprivileged communities by supporting a wide range of socio-economic, educational and environmental initiatives. This is why we have formed KMG Foundation, a corporate social responsibility program that encourages KMGites across the world to care for others. KMG Foundation helps KMGites contribute to educational, environmental and social good.
Education
KMG believes that education is the key to personal empowerment and improved living standards. To spread this message throughout the world, in collaboration with local non-governmental organizations (NGOs), KMG Foundation supports government schools catering to the deprived and disadvantaged sections of the society.
For example, we have adopted five villages in Haryanan (India) for upgrading education at Primary and Middle school level. This involves upgrading the school buildings, providing funding of English and Math teachers, providing sports activities, providing after school assistance for students falling behind in any subject and setting up Computer labs. We are trying to achieve the mission of influencing the lives of children by working closely with the local Village Education Committee.
Also, we have adopted one Village for upgrading all village facilities. This involves setting up Latrine/ Bathroom for each house, solar lamps to provide street lights, rain water harvesting, drip irrigation, training of youth in employable skills, providing neo natal care for pregnant women and setting up delivery huts for safe child birth. This mission is to be fulfilled with the help of local Village Panchayat.
KMG also contributes, regularly, a significant amount towards infrastructure development at the school. The schools receive financial aid in the form of a corporate donation as well as funds collected through our payroll-giving program. It is an online program through which employees pledge a certain amount of their salary towards our community activities.
In addition to this, KMGites also volunteer their time for various CSR activities. They have come together to realize their shared dream of enhancing the quality of life of the underprivileged through education, they devote part of their time interacting, counseling and educating these children.
Our Bangalore centre does similar work in collaboration with the local NGO, Senior Citizen Group. This NGO supports the cause for a host of activities such as disaster relief, mid-day meal in primary schools etc.
These are just few of the projects that KMG supports.
Environment
KMG is dedicated to preserving our environment. By adapting to new energy efficient technology and continually educating ourselves on the issues, KMG is constantly evolving and becoming more environmentally friendly every day.
Go Green!
Melting glaciers, greenhouse gas emissions, rising CO2 levels, depleting water table, global warming are just a few of the environmental issues that are screaming for attention. As a good corporate citizen, KMG recognizes its responsibility towards the environment and is committed to protect and conserve it.
KMG's "Go Green" campaign has been conceptualized to honor our commitment towards the environment. The following are only a few of the initiatives that form a part of this campaign.
Cloth Bags: We distributed cloth bags to replace the use of plastic bags.
Flat Screen: At KMG, outdated CRT monitors are being replaced with energy efficient LCD flat-screen monitors.
Car Pool: Car pooling is a common feature amongst KMGites staying in neighboring locals.
No usage of disposable crockery: We use melamine plates in the Canteen facility instead of disposable crockery as those are non- biodegradable.
It is a matter of immense pride that we are committed to make KMG a socially responsible organization in its true sense and spirit.
